Studley Sports Centre has undergone an extensive rejuvenation and redevelopment during lockdown and over the summer to be launched on Monday 24th August to include The Training Room Sporting Complex – the official training ground of Solihull Moors Football Club. Not only will the facility bear The Training Room name, but the players will also proudly don the brand across their training kit for the forthcoming campaign.
The venue will launch on the same day that the Moors’ first team returns for pre-season training in anticipation of a strong 20/21 National League campaign, with promotion to the EFL being the ultimate ambition.
In conjunction with the new training ground, Studley Sports Centre will also remain the home ground of both local teams Studley FC and Studley Juniors FC who train regularly on the all-weather 3G pitch, together with several other local teams who will also use the venue for weekly training sessions.
The upgraded facilities include two brand new, full-size grass pitches, a new Players’ Lounge, a state-of-the-art gym, and players’ changing rooms.
Terry’s Bar (named in memory of much-loved former licensee Terry Moore) has also received a makeover and will be open to the public on weekday evenings and at weekends from 24th August.
Further facility upgrades will be made in the coming months to the meeting and function room, the outdoor terraces, and other public areas.
Studley Sports Centre is a perfect location for meetings and events due to its excellent transport links, facilities, and warm hospitality. The centre will cater for both indoor and outdoor events, including conferences, meetings, and family celebrations. There are also plans for a drop-in centre and café for local residents.
The main conference room has capacity for up to 120 people and is ideal for corporate events and team building days. Furthermore, a new initiative will give children the chance to have football parties on site using the 3G pitch with visits from Solihull Moors mascots and players, which will be launched in September.
The new owners are looking forward to welcoming the local community when the venue re-opens in-line with government safety guidelines on Monday 24th August. A brand-new website will also launch shortly.
Owner, Darryl Eales, said “We are excited to relaunch the upgraded Studley Sports Centre with a brand-new look and improved facilities. It is the perfect training venue for Solihull Moors due to its amazing location and strong links to local football. The team have settled in well ahead of the season. We look forward to re-introducing our new venue to the wider community as soon as we are safely able to do so”.
